Abstract From the Canadian patent

A distinctive feature of the invention is the fact that a stalk picker is provided in a part of a channel formed by adjacent grain lifters for passage of plants opposite to the entrance portion of the channel, between a chain conveyor and a cutter device. A deflector plate is provided under the cutter device, and a boss is provided on the stalk picker for protecting abutments of the chain conveyor and cutters of the cutter device on the zone of passage of the cut product. The cutter devices have drive means for rotating the cutters in a direction opposite to the hand of flights of an auger which moves the product towards an inclined chamber of a grain harvesting combine.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 19, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 19, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 19, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
