Open the CIPO recordAbstract From the Canadian patent
continuous process for producing agglomerated spray-dried, pregelatinized starch wherein two or more spray-cook nozzles are aligned in a drying tower such that their spray patterns intersect. The point of intersection is distant enough from the nozzles to avoid globbing or clumping and close enough to the nozzles so that the surface of the particles are tacky enough to effect adhesion and a build-up of agglomerates.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 17, 1989 and granted August 17, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 17, 2009.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 17, 2011.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
