A containment system for a radial flow turbine assembly includes a housing assembly, and a turbine rotor journalled for rotation about an axis and having a hub portion and a generally tapering disc portion extending radially outward from the hub portion. An annular nozzle assembly normally secured in the housing assembly against rotation forms a tapered rotor chamber within which the rotor rotates with minimum axial and radial clearance between the rotor and the chamber. A plurality of support struts extend axially inward from the nozzle assembly to a minimal axial and radial clearance with the hub portion of the rotor and forms a first stage of containment. Why it's free to use
- Filed October 16, 1989 and granted October 11, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 16, 2009.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 16, 2011.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
