Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention provides for an improved gaseous detector device for an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM). The geometrical configuration of the electrodes of the gaseous detector device set forth herein separate the various signals emanating from the specimen. Specifically a, first electron detector is formed integrally with the pressure limiting aperture which collects predominantly amplified low energy secondary electron signals. A generally annular electrode assembly is positioned slightly below the pressure limiting aperture and has an inner electron detector formed of a thin annular ring which collects predominantly amplified low energy secondary electron signals. The …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 12, 1989 and granted May 31, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 12, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 12, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
