Abstract From the Canadian patent

An engine cooling-system fan formed by combining two fan assemblies of like construction. Each fan assembly comprises a sheet-metal hub with radiating spokes and a set, of fan blades fastened one to each spoke. The hubs of both fan assemblies are riveted or otherwise joined together in axial alignment, with the two sets of fan blades arranged alternately at constant angular spacings. The spokes of both of the fan assemblies are offset to provide the same plane of rotation for the two sets of the blades.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 6, 1989. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 6, 2009.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 6, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
