A process for forming a container of acrylonitrile polymers by biaxial-orientation blow-molding a preform. A preform of thermoplastic resin mainly comprising acrylonitrile polymers is irradiated with an electron beam or a gamma-ray. Immediately after the irradiation, the preform is heated at 40° C or higher so as to reduce unpolymerized acrylonitrile monomer in the preform to 0.1 ppm or less. Then, the preform is biaxialorientation blow-molded to form a container.
