Abstract From the Canadian patent

A new latent polymerization initiator that becomes active upon exposure to the natural atmosphere comprises - N-alkyl-substituted tert-arylamines containing at least one aliphatic CH bond in the .alpha.-position; - metal compounds that are at least partly soluble in the material to be initiated and that accelerate the drying of unsaturated oils; and, - compounds of weakly acidic carboxylic acids having pKa values of no less than about 0.9, which can be hydrolyzed to the free carboxylic acid on contact with moisture. Such a latent polymerization initiator can be used in a wide variety of applications, including one-part or multipart anaerobic adhesives that are storage stable in the absence …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 30, 1996. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 30, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
