The present invention provides a method for transporting a vehicle body in a vehicle body welding line comprising transporting the vehicle body from a vehicle body assembly station in which the vehicle body for an automobile is assembled, to a discharging station located in front of the vehicle body assembly station by transfer means which is reciprocally movable between the vehicle body assembly station and the discharging station, and transporting the vehicle body from the discharging station to a succeeding welding line wherein a distance larger than one vehicle body is provided between the vehicle body assembly station and the discharging station, so that the vehicle body is normally …
