Abstract From the Canadian patent

The method is disclosed of providing endo-.alpha.-Nacetyl-galactosaminidase (endo-.alpha.-GalNAcase) from a microorganism belonging to the genus Alcaligenes. The endo-.alpha.-GalNAcase is very useful in the analysis of the structure and function of mucin-type sugar chains of glycoproteins, since it is an enzyme capable of cleaving Oglycosidic linkages of sugar chains of glycoproteins releasing the sugar chain from the protein.
