Abstract From the Canadian patent

A composition for preparing a stabilizing road base and method for preparing same. The composition and method for preparing same comprise 30-50% by volume of gypsum fines having a diameter of less than one inch 30-70% by volume of, at least one aggregate having a diameter of less than one inch and 0-40% by volume of soil mixed into a substantially homogeneous mixture, the mixture having less than 15% by volume of particles with a diameter of less than 0.02 inch. The mixture is saturated with at least one lignosulfonate so that the lignosulfonate substantially coats the gypsum fines, the aggregate and the soil.
