A slant-plate type compressor including a compressor housing having a cylinder block as disclosed. A plurality of peripherally located cylinders are formed around the cylinder block and a central, bore is formed through the cylinder block. A piston is slidably fitted in each of the cylinders and is reciprocated by a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a drive shaft rotatably supported in the compressor housing and having one axial end terminating in the central bore.
