Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process for preparing acemetacin which process comprises removing a protecting group, which is other than tetrahydropyranyl group and is removable under acidic conditions, from an acemetacin ester represented by the formula, whrein R means the protecting group under the acidic, conditions.
