Abstract of the Disclosure, An early warning system for a material transfer system having an area to be monitored for internal wear caused by erosive flow action between the area and a transfer material. An inner container or conduit defines the monitored surface area and has an inner surface in contact with the transfer material and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. An outer layer or container surrounds the inner surface and is associated with the outer surface of the inner container. The inner container is colored to contrast with the transfer material.
