Abstract From the Canadian patent

A metallic material measuring method and apparatus. The material is positioned within a coil and a high frequency alternating current is applied to the coil. The change in inductive resistance in the coil from a reference state to a state where the material to be measured is positioned within the coil allows a determination of the properties of the metallic materials to be made.
