The present invention relates to compositions for the treatment of hyperkeratotic skin diseases seborrheic eczema, (mainly of the scalp) mycosis of the skin and nails as well as thickened and chapped skin (rhagades). The composition comprises a mixture of propylene glycol and urea as pharmacologically active main components, optionally in combination with lactic acid for the treatment of nails and skin and with the further addition of glycerol and gel forming agents for the treatment of skin as well as alcohol for the treatment of the scalp.
