Abstract From the Canadian patent

A device for measuring temperature in a liquid body includes a temperature sensing element integrally embedded in a thermally insulated matrix material, the matrix material being chemically resistant to the liquid whose temperature is to be measured and, having sufficient non-wetting and insulating properties to provide a heat flow pattern from the liquid such that the matrix assumes the temperature of the liquid at a desired level below the surface, and to enable the temperature sensing element to measure and retain the temperature at the desired level sufficiently long that it may be observed and/or recorded after the device is removed from the liquid. The device may be weighted to ensure …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted June 7, 1994. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 7, 2011.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
