The invention relates to an equipment for the maintenance, and particularly for the washing of insulator chains supporting high voltage electric lines which allows, to operate on a live line. The washing of the insulator chain is performed through jets of washing fluid sprayed in close proximity to and over the whole contour of the insulators. Said equipment comprises a guide body movable along the insulator chain, a plurality of washing liquid spraying nozzles mounted on said guide body and moving, means to guide said body along the insulator chain.
