Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process for removing odorous and color-forming impurities from alkanesulfonyl chlorides comprising contacting said alkanesulfonyl chlorides with an ozone-containing gas at a temperature ranging from about 0°C to about 100°C for a time sufficient to reduce odorous and color-forming impurities therein.
