Abstract From the Canadian patent

Disclosed are hemodialysis membrane and hemodialysis method. The membrane has a total protein permeability of not more than 0.2%, and has a reduction rate of .beta.2-microglobulin of not less than 5%. The hemodialysis membrane selectively removes .beta.2microglobulin which was shown to cause some long-term complications such as carpal tunnel syndrome in the patients undergoing hemodialysis, while preventing the leakage of useful proteins.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 28, 1993. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 28, 2010.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
