Metallic alloys are disclosed which are at least about 90% amorphous, having enhanced magnetic properties and consist essentially of a composition represented by the formula Fea-bCobBcSidCe wherein "a", "b", "c", "d" and "e" are atomic percentages ranging from about 75 to about 85 about .1, to about .8, about 12 to about 15 about 2 to about 5, and about 1 to about 3 respectively. Magnetic cores, comprising such alloys including cores having been, subjected to a field anneal are also disclosed.
