Agents for repulsing insects and mites ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE, A insect and mite repellant composition in which the active ingredient is an acylated .alpha.-amine acid ester derivative of the formula, in which, R1 stands for hydrogen or for an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl radical R2 and R5 are identical or different and stand for optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl radicals and, R3 and R4 stand for hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, or together with the atom to which they are bonded form an optionally substituted, monocyclic ring.
