A medical instrument comprising a cylindrical member and a sliding member which is adopted to be slidably inserted into the cylindrical member such as a, syringe. In order to improve the slidability of the sliding member, a portion of the sliding member that contacts with the inner wall of the cylindrical member comprises a thermoplastic elastomer layer and a thermoplastic resin layer of low dynamic friction coefficient covering at least a portion of the elastomer layer.
