A method and apparatus for producing a plastic film having strips of an adhering material embedded in each surface of the film, which film may have an antiblocking agent incorporated therein, and a composite plastic film so produced is provided which includes initially providing a first stream of heat plastified extrudable thermoplastic film material to a cast film die, The cast film die has two opposing die lips with each die lip having a plurality of spaced strip channels. The strip channels of one die lip are laterally offset from the strip channels of the second die lip.
