Case No. 8433), ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method and apparatus for reconditioning a draft gear assembly friction clutch mechanism. The apparatus comprises a generally rectangular substantial fiat plate member having at least one protuberance extending outwardly from one side of such plate member. The friction clutch mechanism reconditioning method includes the steps of removing each component of the friction clutch mechanism from an open end of the draft gear housing.
