Abstract From the Canadian patent

An emergency vent for use on a tank for storing or transporting fuel or the like has a housing with a cover thereon. The housing has an upper portion and a lower portion with a screw thread on the outer surface of the lower portion for affixing the vent to a tank opening. Alternatively, the lower portion can have a plain end for welding to the tank. The upper portion has a larger diameter than the lower portion and contains a support having a passageway with a bolt extending through the passageway and being connected to the cover.
