Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present disclosure describes a birefringent optical fiber device for measuring of ambient pressure in a stabilized temperature environment, when connected respectively to a light source and a measuring apparatus. The device comprises a first device for receiving polarized light from the light source; a birefringent optical fiber having a solid content, the birefringent fiber being connected to the first device for receiving the polarized light which has light signal components polarized along two orthogonal polarisation axes of the birefringent fiber the, birefringent optical fiber having a preselected length determined by a range of pressures to be measured; and a second device for …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted September 14, 1993. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended September 14, 2010.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
