Abstract From the Canadian patent

A paint transfer composite useful in forming a protective coating on a compound structural component is provided. The composite is preferably vacuum thermoformable and is comprised of an optional carrier liner sequentially covered with continuous layers of an optional clear coating, a pigmented base coating and a heat-activatable adhesive wherein the adhesive has a sufficiently low glass transition temperature and a sufficiently high tensile modulus to resist damage to said adhesive layer on impact. A method of paint transfer using the composite and a method of preparing the composite are also provided.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 6, 1993. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 6, 2010.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
