A seal assembly for a rotatable shaft having an axial end passing through a wall comprising a first resilient seal for sealing, fitted onto the shaft, the first seal including a circumferenctially disposed, slightly axially movable portion. The movable portion is axially biased outboard towards the axial end of the shaft. A first member is fitted on the first seal and having a first axial end face, bearing surface spaced from the shaft.
