A jitter cancelling apparatus include a carrier phase locked loop comprising first phase rotator for producing a first phase-rotated signal by effecting a first phase rotation of a received signal, using a first phase control signal; first phase detecting means for detecting a phase of the first phase-rotated signal and producing a first detected phase signal; and control means having a time constant for processing the first detected phase signal, to obtain the first phase control signal.
