A precision approach control system designed to control the approach of an aircraft during landing to provide a more stable and easier mode of landing during critical landing situations, such as during the landing of an aircraft on an aircraft carrier. During operation when the aircraft, is subjected to vertical or horizontal winds or wind shear the system controls the aircraft to maintain the inertial flight path angle constant which essentially defines operation in the precision approach control mode.
