The high cost of providing a heavy duty radiator is minimized in a radiator having a core and tank assembly 22 including a heat exchanger core 24, a pair of spaced headers 26, 28, a pair of spaced side pieces 34 on each side of the core 24, and a pair of tanks 36, 38 secured to respective ones of the headers 26, 28. A separate rectangular frame is provided for the core and tank assembly 22 and is made up of two each of first and second channels, 10 12; 14, 16 with, the first channels 10 12 being substantially identical and, the second channels 14 16 being substantially identical.
