Disclosed is an image reading apparatus comprising a storage portion for storing image information slant indicating portion for inputting information for rectifying a slant of the image information stored in the storage portion, and image processor for dividing the image information stored in said storage means into multiple areas according to the information inputted by the slant indicating portion, so that the slant of the image information is rectified area-by-area.
