The present invention relates to an optical head of an optical recording and reproducing device for optically recording or reproducing informations. In the optical head according to the present invention, when a holder which is, provided with an optical element fixedly disposed thereon is fixed to a housing member, the holder is housed in a guide hole of the housing member and then a screw is screwed into a tapped hole formed in the housing member not so as to reach the guide hole to press a bottom portion of the tapped hole against the holder.
