Abstract From the Canadian patent

Invention Patent: "A PROCESS FOR PREPARING A ZIE GLER TYPE CATALYTIC SYSTEM AND A PROCESS FOR PREPARING ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYETHYLENE."------------ --------Description of the preparation of a Ziegler type catalyst system through impregnation of a special alumina with 0.8-1.0% by weight of titanium derived -from a dilute solution of titanium halide in n-hexane activator employed being triisobutylaluminum or triethylaluminum at an (Al)/(Ti) molar ratio of 2.5/1 to - 80/1 in the catalyst. The catalyst system has high efficiency and yield, and leads to polyethylenes of excellent physical and mechanical properties which make it particularly suitable for use in engineering plastics

Why it's free to use

  • Granted February 2, 1993. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended February 2, 2010.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
