Abstract From the Canadian patent

The improved flue gas desulfurization process is effective for removing sulfur dioxide in the flue gas with a lime-bearing material in a fluidized lime reactor (50, 110, 164, 426). The effectiveness of the process is due primarily to the presence of sulfur trioxide in the gas, the sulfur trioxide being generated in a catalytic convertor (40 156, 41a) and, a bypass circuit (20, 408) transmitting a portion of the flue gas past the catalytic convertor (40 418). Sulfur trioxide may also be directly injected by duct injection in order to enhance the removal of sulfur dioxide from flue gas in the fluidized lime reactor (110, 164). In the initial phase, the duct injected sulfur trioxide …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 22, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 22, 2009.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
