Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method and apparatus for editing a high-convolutional code for transmission and its reconversion at a receiver using coda puncturing n-output bit streams of a convolutional encoder. The device includes parallel switched data rearrangers at the transmitter provided with control switching circuits which evenly distribute bit streams to the transmission channels. At the receiver a de-puncturer, processes all transmission channels in parallel downstream, of which dummy bits are inserted by a multiplexer and a convolutional decoder subsequently decodes the received data.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted November 24, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended November 24, 2009.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
