Abstract:, A laser has been made using a Nd3+ -doped fluorozirconate heavy metal fluoride (HMF) glass multimode fiber which lases in a range equal to or greater than 1.32 micrometers. The fiber laser was made by forming a glass fiber from a core glass composition comprising 52,8 mole % ZrF4, 19.9 mole % BaF2, 2.5 mole % LaF3 3.0 mole, % AlF3, 19.9 mole % NaF, 0.4 mole % InF3 and 1.5 mole %, NdF3 the active dopant and the composition of the cladding glass comprises 39.6 mole % ZrF4, 17.9 mole % BaF2 4.0 mole % LaF3, 3.0 mole % AlF3, 21.9 mole % NaF 0.4, mole % InF3, and 13.2 mole % HfF4.

Why it's free to use
- Granted August 25, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 25, 2009.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
