An apparatus for severing a web of film in a form fill and, seal packaging machine. The apparatus includes a removable knife (10) and a holder (12) for removably receiving the knife. The holder includes a channel (17) having a pivot pin (24) and a reduced cross-sectional portion (18). The knife includes a notch (22) for pivoting on the pivot pin.
