An apparatus for the storage and dispensing of coffee comprises a container (1) for the coffee, a movable discharge device (9) with at least one dispensing compartment (11). The dispensing compartment (11) is movable with the discharge device (9) between a replenishment position and a discharge position. The discharge device (9) is in the form of a rotor which covers the bottom (3) of the container (1) and is provided with a number of upstanding values (10) which therebetween define the dispensing compartments (11).
