Abstract:, The present invention is directed to a vaccine useful for the protection of poultry from colibacillosis infections which comprises as an active ingredient pre-inactivated and ultrasonicated E. coli cells. The invention is further directed to a method for protecting poultry from colibacillosis infections which comprises inoculating poultry through the cloaca with said vaccine.
