Abstract From the Canadian patent

53,663, ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE, Long conductors which interconnect control pushbuttons such as STOP, START and RESET pushbuttons to the basic control circuit for an electromagnetic contactor or controller often have distributed capacitance between parallel lines in a common cable. This distributed capacitance may conduct capacitive current from the power supply line to a parallel control line the control pushbutton of which is in the off state. However, this latter current interacts with high impedance in the control circuit for producing a voltage which may be of a magnitude which would otherwise be supplied by an ON pushbutton. A microprocessor periodically samples the voltages and …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted August 4, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 4, 2009.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
