Methods and apparatus for measuring liquid flow velocity and mass flowrates of a multiphase flow containing at least two liquid phases. Time varying measurements indicative of the ratio of mass absorption coefficients of the components of the flow at two spaced apart locations are cross correlated to determine liquid flow velocity. The time varying measurements are provided by measuring the intensities of gamma-rays transmitted through a selected volume of the flow at two different gamma-ray energies. At least one of the gamma-ray energies has substantially different mass absorption coefficients in each of the two liquids. Gas velocity when gas is present, and component fractions of all …

Why it's free to use
- Granted July 21, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 21, 2009.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
