A spacer for concrete wire reinforcement is comprised of a heavy gauge, flat metal spring steel band having a hook at one end for receipt of one of two parallel wires of a wire mesh, and a curved and hook-like opposite end which can be resiliently forced into position under the second wire to securely retain the spacer in position. A generally V-shaped projection is provided on the spacer to position the wire mesh at the desired distance from the surface of the concrete mold. The apex of the projection is formed to have a convex wide-radius "ball-bearing" shape.
