A Method and apparatus for controlling the dispensing of "dry" powdered compositions, particularly carpet cleaning compositions, consisting of finely divided particles which descend in A stream under gravity and have oscillatory movement imparted thereto before being discharged through an orifice leading from the apparatus so as to agitate separate and propel the particles through said orifice.
