Abstract From the Canadian patent

A transformed bacterium expressing human .alpha.1antitrypsin is disclosed, which bacterium is transformed by a vector capable of expressing human .alpha.1-antitrypsin. The vector comprises a sequence coding for human .alpha.1antitrypsine under the control of a promoter and a translation initiation region with the following sequence: Translation, TCGATAACACAGGAACA5ATCTATG sequence Shine/Dalgano and also an origin of efficient replication effective in said bacterium.
