The present invention relates to a device for sealing shaft bearings or shaft-bearing housings as used in particular, for self-aligning roller bearings used in rough-pressing rollers or the like, these incorporating a ring or sleeve-advantageously of stainless steel--that encircles the shaft and having at least one annular projection on the outersurface, said projection extending into at least one annular groove at least one end of the bearing housing.
