A method is provided for the positioning and supporting of a tree having a tree stem and a rootball. A hole is formed in a ground surface, and anchors are positioned within the hole. Block fragments are then positioned around the tree stem. A securing member is disposed around the block fragments and also around the tree stem for securing the block fragments to the tree stem. The rootball is positioned within the hole and a tension, member is connected to the securing member and also to the anchors.
