A hook type buckle which contains only three parts namely a hook body, a moulding of resilient plastics material having a cover portion and a latch clip portion and a belt, retaining bar which is suitable for retaining a seat belt. The hook body is generally flat and contains a seat belt, aperture through which a seat belt is fed over the bar, and, back through the aperture. The latch clip portion normally closes the mouth of the hook at one end of the hook body but includes a finger tab which, when depressed opens the, latch clip to enable the hook to engage an anchor plate.
