A high voltage electrical winding 27 for shell form transformers 7 is disclosed that reduces eddy current and circulating current losses within the winding. The winding is fabricated from an elongated conductor bundle 40 that is spirally wound into a plurality of turns. The conductor bundle 40 is formed from a multiplicity of enamel coated elongated conductor strands 45 arranged in side by side relation. Each of the conductor strands has a rectangular cross section with a thickness of less than approximately 40 mils between contacting surfaces. The strand's cross sectional height is preferably less than 120 mils. The conductor strands 45 are mounted side by side such that their respective …

Why it's free to use
- Granted May 19, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended May 19, 2009.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
