An apparatus for cleaning cylindrical air filters having a spray nozzle carrier vertically movable within a housing. The spray nozzle carrier has a depending cylinder. A fixed hollow piston extends through the bottom of the housing and is received in the cylinder of the spray nozzle carrier such that a flow of fluids through the hollow piston serves to fill the cylinder thereby raising the spray nozzle carried.
